Why do my child's shoe tabs keep coming undone, and how do I fix it?Updated 2 months ago

If the velcro tabs on your child's shoes won't stay secure, it's most often one of two things:

• Debris in the velcro — fuzz, lint, or pet hair can build up in the hook-and-loop fabric and reduce its grip. Try cleaning the velcro thoroughly (a stiff brush or piece of tape works well) and see if that resolves it.
• Tab length — if your child has a higher instep or their shoe size is right at the edge of a size range, the tab may be a touch short. Check our tab size chart to confirm you have the right size (Small, Medium, Large, or Extra-Large) for their shoe size, and consider sizing up a tab length if needed.

If you've tried both and the issue continues, send us a quick video of the tab in action at [email protected] and we'll help figure out what's going on.
